It’s fitting that horseshoes were a theme in Lauren & Brian’s wedding, because I feel so lucky to have been their planner. The bride is an accomplished equestrian, so the pastoral beauty of the Santa Lucia Preserve was a perfect place for the couple’s wedding. We incorporated nods to this special part of Lauren’s life throughout the day – a horse shoe escort display, vintage trophies amidst the flowers and linen napkins with custom horse shoe embroidery.

Lauren’s beloved horse is named Magnolia, so Mindy Rice created beautiful magnolia trees at the entrance to the barn, while Perfect Endings adorned the deep green-blue cake with sugar magnolia blossoms.

We made sure to incorporate the groom’s favorite things, like ice cream and a fine Scotch, in fun ways too. Passed gelato bon bons and dedicated Scotch bar were part of the after-dinner fun.

The dinner itself was designed by acclaimed San Francisco chef Traci des Jardin, who worked with culinary team at the Preserve to execute it to perfection. Guests sipped artisanal cocktails under a custom would structure, while enjoying a sumptuous a raw bar and caviar station at cocktails. They then dined on gnocchi with lobster and filet mignon in the Preserve’s barn, which was beautifully draped from floor to ceiling.
