Photography JOSE VILLA
I became very close to Andrea and her family while planning her wedding to Sean, because they truly valued all the same things I do as a planner - attention to detail, commitment to excellence and beauty that takes your breath away.
When they selected two incredible venues in the Santa Barbara area - Our Lady of Mount Carmel church for ceremony and Villa Sevillano for reception - I knew we'd be able to create something special. Taking inspiration from a classic white wedding, we layered in barely grey and subtle blue tones for a soft and chic effect. The abundant white florals by Mindy Rice Design were romantic yet still felt effortless.
Treating their guests to an incredible dining experience was also something that was extremely important to the couple. We worked with Los Angeles-based Lucques to cater the affair, featuring a late summer seasonal menu with three table-side entree choices for guests to enjoy. A crepe station and beignet station were also incredible post-dinner indulgences.
But one of my favorite elements is the wedding cake by Bottega Louie. The fondant mirrored the intricate lace of Andrea's Oscar de la Renta gown, and we presented it on a live boxwood pedestal at the entry to the dinner garden.
